I have been a global nomad from the age of five when my parents moved from the UK to South Africa. Since then my existence has been nomadic - moving country every few years. This has continued into my adult life after meeting my husband in Tanzania and now raising two global nomads of our own!

Travelling has given me a wide and positive outlook on life. I utilize my skills in my work allowing me to be precise and timely in my assignments, culturally sensitive and paying attention to detail while at the same time looking at the project as a whole.

I am self-motivated, conscientious and quick to learn and adapt to new situations. Research-oriented in particular with reference to published articles, documents and website management. I possess strong computer skills with particular reference to publication design, web design and GIS.

I am an experienced full-time freelance proofreader, editor, and publication design and layout specialist - and have particular experience with non fiction publications mostly in the development field working with NGOs and international organizations. I have strong skills in content verification particularly in the African context.

I have a background in geography with an emphasis in Africa and Asia (BA (hons) from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University) and Geographic Information Science (MSc (Merit) Birkbeck College, London University). I have also successfully completed the courses MS1, MS2, PS1, PS2 from www.freelancers.co.uk. 

I am however interested to edit/proofread in the fiction genre.

I am a website designer, having developed my first website in 2001 for the Kenya and Sudan country programmes for an international NGO (www.lwfkenyasudan.org) which specializes in refugee and development issues. I have updated and improved this site regularly according to the clients wishes.

The website www.ukmentoring.com was developed for a client in the UK who specializes in mentoring executives.

Additional websites have been created for interest and where subjects do not seem to be sufficiently represented on the Internet. These include http://chameleonsinkenya.tripod.com  a site developed for education purposes looking at the Jackson's chameleon of Kenya and Tanzania, and http://lost-tooth.tripod.com a site created for the young and the young at heart, about the tooth fairy and the tooth mouse who are both helping the Fairy Queen to collect children's teeth.

I am widely travelled and have built up a stock of images taken over the past 25 years from Brunei and Sarawak in South East Asia, to Haiti in the Caribbean, and my greatest number of images are from Southern and Eastern Africa - Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique, Botswana and South Africa. These are of people, places, animals and landscapes.

I am based at present in Switzerland and I am available for assignment worldwide. I have selected just a few images for viewing.
